A: The Folsom Area Bicycle Advocates (FABA) is a non-profit group formed in 2000 to promote cycling in and around the Folsom area.

A: FABA's mission is to promote cycling in our community as a healthly, pollution-free practical mode of transportation and recreation for people of all ages and abilities.

Q: How does FABA carry out its mission?
A: FABA represents cyclists' interests in and around the Folsom area through advocacy, special events and promotional activities. FABA has working relationships with local government agencies including:

• The City of Folsom
• The City of Rancho Cordova
• California State Parks, Gold Fields District
• El Dorado County
• Sacramento County
• Sacramento Regional Transit District
• 50 Corridor Transportation Management Association (formerly the FRED TMA)

Q: Why did FABA become a chapter of SABA?
A: SABA membership improves our ability to carry out our mission by giving us more resources, better representation at the county and state level and reducing overlap on common projects such as Bike to Work Week. It also gives our members increased benefits at local retailers.
